Meditation. Many companies are getting their employees to do it. Though I suggest you don’t meditate during work hours. And you should do it for other reasons as well. Like mental sharpness; I read in Time that ‘mindfulness meditation’ basically thickens some part of the brain to do with concentration and general thinking power, so meditation will even help you in the long run because you would be able to execute certain tasks better due to your better brain.

There are a number of different theories regarding motivating people at work to increase there productivity.
From a psychological point I think we all know Maslow’s needs, and i assume we past that. From there you get "expectancy theory" which basically statements that people will work on what that expect to get. For example if someone worked 40 hours extra and got a overseas holiday doing what you do, and you (based on your judgements) think you will get the same or expect it, you’ll work harder.
Money is seldom the complete driver, but in certian cases money helps motivate staff. Power can also help drive someone to work harder. Hard work = promotion = power. Sometimes internal drivers can play apart like you don’t enjoy not knowing your work, and therefore work harder (but that’s outside of other peoples control).
Your physical enviroment can affect your work. Having a airconed office and sitting is much better than being hot and standing all day. Lighting (i.e. bad light hurts your eyes, etc).
You can look at the work itself (which does stem to motivation) but if you give a guy 50 cars to wash in an hour he will be flooded and not do well. Provide people with a challange that’s not to difficult and they will perform better. Also don’t make them bored.
Having better process and tools to get the work done. Imagine our car wash guy only had a bucket. He’d keep having to fill it up.
But most often it comes down to motivation, which i can’t remember everything off hand, but there is lots and lots. I also wasn’t sure if it’s for you or your work.
