LM Work Plan Seminar-Challenge 2
In Secretary General, LIM SWEE SAY’s speech during the work plan seminar 2010. The secretary general shared with the union leaders how productivity can foster healthier more efficient workers.
He foresaw 3 challenges that would hinder productivity and expounded on the solutions that the labour movement should adopt.
The second of these challenges was the need to ensure “Productivity together” and not just remain cheaper, better and faster, but also smarter.
Mr Lim shared how innovative ideas and innovation will spearhead this charge to remain competitive in the post global downturn.

Workplace Productivity – Outward Bound
Outward Bound is the leading organisation in New Zealand for showing people their full potential through challenge and adventure in the outdoors. It was established in 1962 and still operates from the original location, Anakiwa, in the Marlborough Sounds.
Anakiwa, near Picton, has been described as the most perfectly situated Outward Bound school in the world. The natural timbered buildings of the facilities merge gracefully into the curve of the bay and are backed by native bush.
Hahn was an educator. In his words: “We are all better than we know. If only we can come to discover this, we may never again settle for anything less.”

The Department implemented a mobile tool solution as part of a strategy to facilitate better co-ordination and encourage understanding and knowledge of each other’s work between the different areas of the organisation.

The Goodtime production and management team represent over 80 years of baking industry experience and know how – gained from working in a variety of companies both in New Zealand and overseas.
This team has been at the centre of Goodtime’s progressive development, responsible for many of the innovative manufacturing systems that have become synonymous with Goodtime.
Goodtime pioneered the development of a bakery manufacturing process that could produce freshly baked products every day and have them delivered in specially designed temperature-controlled vehicles to maintain factory-freshness to customers throughout the country.
And to check, computerised sensors frequently travel with our products to ensure that no temperature fluctuations take place which may be detrimental to freshness and quality.
Goodtime is a company that not only complies with food regulations but is constantly working on ways to exceed them. Goodtime has been an Agriquality approved supplier since 1991, have its own in-house food safety programme, and applies additional hygiene-control standards and monitoring to ensure its product quality is never compromised.

Inland Revenue recognised that many owners of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), were not meeting their tax responsibilities. Often unintentionally, some customers would be incorrectly registered or producing incorrect returns.
