How can I improve a bakelite product, add color, and increase productivity?
Your question is entirely unclear.
Economic growth is caused by an increase in productivity, what has Obama done to increase productivity?
Economic growth is caused by an increase in productivity, what has Obama done to increase productivity?
minored in economics at penn state with a 97% avg. Typicall liberal, call your opposition dumb, uneducated and a red neck.
also, learn the difference between "your" and "you’re".
= what has Obama done to increase productivity?
By making the business climate so uncertain in this country, he made employers EXTREMELY hesitant to hire people, thus forcing them to squeeze productivity out of the existing employees.
All hail Obama for the improved productivity. Pay no attention to the 10% unemployment.

LMAO nothing – any time the government gets invovled in the economy with their interventionist policies they just make things worse. The stimulus’s only effect was that now banks are sitting on all this money that they’re going to start lending out again to give the illusion of growth, but really, at the same time the Fed is beginning to up interest rates again it’s going to put many borrowers in actual negative real i-rates which will cause a credit crunch and eventually a double dip recession.
The government should have no place in a true free market economy. Obama and all of his advisors suffer from the famed "Knowledge problem" that ( it was either Mises or Hayek) which is that even the smartest people in the world cannot possibly be omnescient and therefore they can never fully understand a system as complex as the entire macroeconomy.
I’ll add as well that consumption cannot be the driving factor behind an economy but rather savings as they lead to investment and growth projects. Really, the largest driver of growth is technology – how does this get created? – investment and research – funded by—–ta-da loans or savings (which really back loans of others in the banking system)
If you want some advice on economics that actually make sense dont’ subscribe to these Keynesian/Neo-classical views and start reading up on the Austrian School : Krizner, Hayek, Menger, Mises, Bohm-Bawerk, Friedman at times.
Kill the Cubicle! – Modern Office Design Will Increase Productivity
When was the last time you had a good look around the office you are sitting in, maybe right now as you read this? Are you stuck in a cubicle with boring-looking IKEA furniture? What is the feeling you are getting, are you feeling productive?
It may not come as a complete surprise but the work we do in our office week out and week in is far more productive if the work takes place in a well designed office. A well designed office design signals the values and objectives of your company and the use of design in office interiors communicates a company’s values and identity. So why is it that so many companies still stuck with boring, unattractive and ultimately unproductive office designs? In most cases as always it comes down to two factors, office design cost both money and time. But those are short sighted costs.
Companies of today need to meet the business needs of today, most companies have a remote or mobile workforce, have diverse employee demographics, specific corporate and branding objectives and have an international workforce and global clients. Office design has to reflect this. Companies need to rethink the very fundamentals of office design. Gone is the 1960’s legacy of workplaces dominated by cubicles and private offices. Office design founded on employee privacy and individuality is no longer.
Today’s office design is led by the realisation that collaboration is an increasingly critical ingredient the success of basically any business. But giving up the individual space, which cubicles and private offices give employees, on behalf of cooperation and collaboration of course doesn’t fit all companies. As in most contexts the “one-size-fits-all” approach hardly ever works out. E.g. web programmers spitting out code need more privacy than salespeople using the telephone.
When it comes to office design, function often follows form. When an office is configured to maximize employee interaction then collaboration becomes an integral part of every workday. Office designs based on setting up work areas wherever they are needed in the building can raise satisfaction while boosting density. Multi-purpose spaces, central placed common areas are examples of strategic office designs.
Today there are many exciting office design techniques and products that can help you get more from your workspace, strategic office design reflecting cooperation and collaboration. Long gone are the cubical nightmares in grey surroundings. Have another look around where you are sitting, time for n new office design. An office redesign can insert energy and life into a company and its employees. Let’s kill the cubicle!

Do unions help to increase worker productivity?
Or are they a waste of space , are they really necessary , after all the money that is spent on a union membership could be spent on other things like food and electricity, and lastly what if the unionists decided to go to work themselves and have real jobs . Would this be better for the economy ?
Who puts unions in power , governments right ?
It’s all about the vote , looking at the bigger picture suggests that unions are there to make people feel they have a voice , just like governments and who puts unions in power governments . Who pays for government election campaigns . The unions . They are both in bed with one another
I’m in a union an I hate it. I have no choice in the matter either cause if I want out I have to sacrifice my job. Unions were great at one time. Now laws are in place wether it be OSHA or ANSI saftey requirments or overtime and safe working hour laws. These things needed to be put in place in order to ensure a stable working environment but after these essential basics where set up now they go after pensions and getting extra pay and other benefits that do not fit the long term feasibility for the company. without a company there are no workers. Unions now seem to protect those who slack off and those who do there job and do not need the protection still must pay for it or lose their job. Not only this when some true injustice does happen an employee must go through the union channels which can take much longer than getting an attorney and getting it done much quicker. Lastly unions have their roots leadership set up from the people in the labor pool (i.e. shop stewards, greviancemen and the like). when these people go up against laywers hired by the company trained in law and know how to get stuff done that is really a downfall for a Union member. If I had to fistfight another person and that person got to hire Mike Tyson and i could either fightmyself or ask someone like me not trained in fights and pay for that priviledge it is definately not fair. People need to realize that workers can now more than ever take care of themselves and do not have to pay a union in order to do an ineffective job.
Also people, workers put unions in power not government. also yes unions do make a lot of contributions to political campaigns. Unions and corporations can now put a larger amount in and the news only focused on the corporations. When in reality corporations statistically put 50.1% towards republicans and 49.9% towards Democrats where Unions put around 85% to Democrats and 15% to republicans. Yes corporations spend more about $1.8 billion compared to $600 million for Unions but still that is dramatic. I wonder why now all of the sudden my union dues are going up 40% next year?!?!?!?
How Thermal Paper and Pos Systems Increase Productivity
Given the qualities of thermal paper, point of sale (POS) systems stand to benefit in terms of productivity. Thermal paper can significantly boost the productivity levels of businesses that rely on their point of sale systems for revenue generation and customer service. Increases in productivity can be seen from:
Quicker and higher quality printing capabilities – Thermal paper is coated with a colorless substance, so that strong text and images are created on the paper during the printing process. Easy to read sales receipts enable customers to review details of their transaction, whether at the gas station or at the ATM.
Accuracy – Because thermal paper can be attached to a printer that is PC-based, it reproduces exactly what the user punches in; there is no margin for error. Productivity is increased because “doing it right the first time” saves a lot of manhours in fixing data errors – time that is better spent on sales-related activities.
Cost considerations – Businesses have the option to choose the size of their thermal paper rolls because their machines are configured to take in a certain size paper. For example, if the cash register of a gas station will take only a smaller thermal paper roll, the gas station owner can save on his thermal paper costs because smaller rolls cost less to manufacture. Another aspect of the cost factor is also evident when a business owner can choose high quality thermal paper versus low quality thermal paper. The main idea is really not to choose the lower quality thermal paper because it can cause printing jams, but in order to save costs, a business can choose a lower grade, particularly if the receipts are of a “short duration” nature like gas station or ATM receipts.
Efficiency – Imagine your customer waiting impatiently at the check out line; it is always something any business owner wants to avoid. Thermal paper facilitates the check out process because once installed at the cash registers, they work like magic. The traditional cash register with ordinary paper often has technical problems that take minutes to repair, therefore causing annoyance to customers who are in a rush.
Versatility – Many POS systems are PC-based and are configured to perform multiple functions: to ring sales, collect and record sales information, calculate taxes and provide sales reports. Some POS systems are also designed to accommodate the supplementary functions of inventory tracking, stock re-ordering and customer purchases. Input all that information and the thermal paper spews out an exact match of the data keyed in.
Adaptability – Thermal paper can be run on ultraviolet printing presses; this enables business owners to benefit from improved differentiation, security and tracking capabilities. Thermal paper is also low-maintenance which means that businesses can run a more efficient operation and can streamline their sales and inventory activities more effectively.
Thermal paper and POS systems also increase productivity because marketing efforts are supported by the “physical” requirements. When businesses want to raise their marketing at higher levels, they introduce coupons, loyalty programs, bonus points and customer profiles. By using thermal paper, these incentives are produced more quickly and more accurately. Productivity gains are also made from price verification terminals and in label and promotional sign printing.
For auditing and accounting purposes, thermal paper removes the administrative burden of going through bulky files and records. The thermal paper contains all the information needed by auditors to execute an efficient audit.
The use of thermal paper and a good printer or cash register eliminates much of the human error that is associated with live persons behind the counter. Thanks to the capabilities of thermal paper, people now go directly to their ATM machine and obtain a receipt of their transaction in less than five seconds. Compare that amount of time spent by customers approaching a live teller who has to punch in the details manually and then asks the customer to sign on the dotted line. By having machines and thermal paper take over some human activities, a bank’s productivity is increased, thus enabling it to devote time and effort to other activities that will generate additional revenues (like handling business loan applications of small to medium size companies).
There is also the fact that the less paper employees have to deal with, the more productive they become. Using thermal paper cuts down on the amount of paperwork that needs to be done, freeing up time for your employers to spend on other tasks.
For businesses to increase their productivity, they must first read the manufacturer’s requirements for the type of thermal paper to be put in their machines. It is then up to the business owner to shop for the best thermal paper that will fit his or her requirements to a “T”.

Ways to Increase Productivity and Efficiency When You Work
Did You Know…
Increasing your monitor size could increase your productivitiy and efficiency up by 40%?
Adding a secondary monitor could increase your productivity and efficiency up by 65%?
Changing your seat and placing keyboard/mice in a comfort location could increase your productivity and efficiency up by 20%?
Having a computer that runs fast could increase your productivity and efficiency up by 200% on average?
Now if you combine the above all together, how would you like to increase your productivitiy and efficiency by up to 325%? Read on…
What’s Special About Monitor Size and Multiple Monitors?
By having a bigger or additional screen, you will have more desktop workspace; you will be able to open up more windows/programs and have all of them visible to you at the same time. By decreasing the number of times you minimize windows in order to see what you’re looking for, your productivity is increased because you don’t have to waste time on minimizing windows. This can only be achievable if you have larger desktop workspace.
The more desktop space you have also means (usually) the bigger screen resolution you have. For example, for 19″ LCD monitors the screen resolution can normally go up to 1280×1024. For 24″ LCD monitors the screen resolution can normally go up to 1920×1200. Why is this important? You may ask. This is especially true for graphic designers where the larger the screen resolution reduces the time people spend on “scrolling” up-and-down or left-to-right in order to see where they want to see. Therefore, productivity increases.
Are your keyboard/mice position and chair comfortable enough?
Improper keyboard/mice position will result in you working with tensed shoulders. Poorly designed chair will result in you working with tensed back. If your body is not in a comfort position the amount of time that you need to stand up and stretch increases.
Don’t be Cheap on Your Computer for Work
This is probably the most obvious but often ignored problem that most beginner business owners have. By having a faster computer your programs will load faster. By having a faster computer you will be able to open up more programs at the same time. A business owner needs to have a business class computer! The computer has to be fast and reliable.
Conclusion
Your productivity increases dramatically when you give yourself a productive work environment. Other than the items mentioned above, I’ll end with the following suggestions:
If you have a laptop, get an external keyboard and mice. This is optional since it depends on how comfortable and productive are you with your laptop keyboard and trackpad compared to a full size external keyboard and mice.
If your laptop supports a docking station, get one. This will reduce the time you need to plug in all the connections every time you bring your laptop into your office.
Rest and Stretch once a while.
Drink a lot of water while you work.
Pay attention to your body. If you are not feeling comfortable to work, don’t. Working few hours in best body condition often yields more productivity and efficiency than working a lot of hours in poor body condition.
