How much weed and/or beer do you consume in a week ?

and is it getting in the way of work or your life style ? i.e if you’re a basketball player or a swimmer, do you find puffing the magic dragon hinders your performance in the pool ? or maybe too much truth serum renders your ability to shoot 3 pointers on the court the next morning ?

weed and/or beer does less to enhance productivity in the workplace.

discuss.

None.Nada.Which for me is great because I used to drink beer every day,and quite a bit,but I quit…well I basically quit.I will have an occasional beer and I have some in the fridge, but I don’t remember when I had one last. It’s been awhile.
I don’t smoke weed-have’nt for a VERY long time.It made me paranoid so I quit, but actually I think it’s easier on the body/mind than alcohol.
Beer did get in the way of my life when I was drinking on a daily basis because I never wanted to leave the house…and I did’nt want anyone smelling it on my breath.I really had no life then come to think of it-beer was my life-ugh-I’m so glad that is in my past.
—Don’t play sports so I don’t know about the 3 pointers.

Do u find the better u take care of yourself on all levels the better ur work productivity is?

My children first me second then work.

Why do so many older adults look down upon IM, texting,Social Networking sites and other related technologies?

To preface my question, I am *not* talking about the 40 and over segment of our population, but instead possibly the 25 – 39 set. That said, I’ll continue.

These folks are quick to embrace their cellular phones, podcasts, business productivity applications, blogging and other hip technologies when it suits them.

Yet they look down upon their slightly younger (and sometimes their direct age cohorts) when it comes to the fun side of the internet – instant messaging and social networking.

What’s so wrong with it, anyways?

Their main argument is that it’s "all so immature". Over and over I hear only that objection, but few others.

Get over it.

These medium can be an excellent tool for productivity, because it seems that’s all you care about. It isn’t just the realm of teenagers anymore, but a widely accepted form of contact and collaboration.

It can help you get in touch with friends. You had them once, remember? Back in the hazy mists of time, before you stepped into that cubicle.
So stop acting all high-and-mighty.
Have fun with life, if you even remember how. And part of a healthy life includes the social aspects as well.

So anyone know WHY this is going on?
Excellent point – I don’t have a problem with ‘real time’ conversations either, but some of these people act so old, you’d think they were around at the invention of the telephone!

They’re quite young enough to have used computers in school, and even some of these types of electronic communication.

In short, nostalgia is fine, but these folks are too young to have lived through the ‘good old days’.

The problem is that some people see social networking and instant messaging as replacements for, rather than supplements to, real-life interaction. Also, much of the 25-39 sector that you seem to be criticizing is too busy with actually earning a living to be concerned about the "fun" aspects of IM and social networking.

Even though IM and SN have their advantages for business exchanges and spreading new ideas, some use it merely for trivial purposes instead of useful, productive activity. For the average teenager, it’s all fun and games. That is where their beef lies. Then again, it’s the same with any new technology that comes out on the market.

Why dont corporations audit there managements capabilities?

I work at an auto factory and many of the management do not have the capabilities needed to do their job correctly. They have been placed in these positions due to their parents pulled them in. This effects the company and I would like to know why this isnt changed or maybe weekly audits are not taken showing productivity levels. Apples do fall far from the tree.

You answered your own question. If they were audited most would be out in the street.

macro-economics question?

For each of the following events, explain the short-run and long-run effects on output and the price level, assuming policymakers take no action.

a) the stock market declines sharply, reducing consumers’ wealth.
b)the federal government increases spending on national defense
c)a technological improvement raises productivity
d)a recession overseas causes foreigners to buy fewer U.S. goods
14 hours ago – 3 days left to answer.

A) panic sets in. Markets generally fall much quicker on higher volume. The powers that be (whom know and set this up in advance) will then try to profit from this which results in dead cat bounces for corporate profits

B) Spending money on anything is a form of inflation for governments use a printing press to create money

C) Unemployment rate goes higher because of our fraudulent monetary system. This is explained better in the outstanding documentary "ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM"

D) The last few decades has been the case as the USA imports way more than its exports as it is living way beyond its means and spending money it does not have.

My collegues at work voted against a clean proposition and I am very dissapointed in them?

I even don’t want to say "Hello" to any of them. I know that hidden personal interests were involved, but the voting against slows down the productivity (esspecially mine, allthough probably nobody thought of that). Now I hate everybody.

Should I still make the usual kind face, and the hellos, or should I show the "traitors" that I don’t respect them anymore? They have a higher position, but the cases when we are pollitically in touch are very rear. Untill then, I’ll "catch" them hierarchically.
The proposition was not mine.
Also, I hate them not because they DISSAGREED with me, but because they negatively affect productivity of all company, and promote personal interests as a priority.

Well at least you’re handling it in a mature and professional way. Maybe if you held your breath and stomped your feet they’d come to see your side. How dare they not consider whats best for you, personally, when making their decisions.

What is role performance and its emerging challenges?

What is role performance and its emerging challenges, their new competencies in terms of new skills, measurement and policies, quality improvement and assurance, policy and political equity, research utilization, innovation, problem solving, effeciency and equity

http://www.sociology.org.uk/p2s3n1b.htm gives an overview of role performance. It is how well you play your part in a particular situation. For example, teachers have a prescribed role in their jobs. If they don’t perform as they are expected, they are not successful. Culture and society play a huge part in showing people how they’re supposed to act in different situations.

What are the Key Componants/Elements of Performance Management?

I am currently doing my CPP and have come across this question and have got a bit stuck! Any help would be much appreciated as I’m currently pulling my hair out! Thanks

We will discuss it after class if you want to come and see me.

Why is it that 80-90% of increase in output during modern growth is due to productivity increase?

The increase in inputs of labour and capital accounts for only 10-20% of the growth, why so? Can anyone examine these statements?

The increase in productivity is a result of two things. Either you have more workers working to produce the goods, or you employ better methods and technology that make each worker more productive. It is the case that generally, productivity is increased through the second method.

Years ago, things had to be typed out on typewriters. If mistakes were made, it was hard to correct them without typing large portions over. With the advent of computers, a technological increase, things could be typed quicker because it was easier to correct mistakes. As such, productivity increased, but the same number of workers were used. Thus, most of the increase in output is due to changes in technology.
